Our Regional Managers spend a lot of time in front of current, past, and future Trident students. These men and women spend their time on the road, visiting bases, conferences, and other events connecting with veterans and those in the military who aspire to return to school.

Transitioning out of the military and going back to school can be a challenge, but like many of the challenges veterans and members of the military have faced, these can be overcome. Our Regional Managers know what it's like since they have all walked down the same path before.

Here's some advice from our Regional Managers for those who are thinking about going back to school:

Valetine Cameron

It's absolutely important to get your education for numerous reasons. First, it will be difficult to transition from the military to a civilian position with the expectation of having the same level of responsibility and compensation found on active duty. Second, there's the personal satisfaction of earning a degree and setting an example for others to follow.

Get your evaluation and start as soon as possible. Research the degree that best fits what you want to do after you transition. Also remember that pursing a degree looks better on a resume than no degree at all – it will open up more opportunities for you.

It's competitive out there. You may have a good background, a high security clearance, and ability to communicate with different cultures and communicate well with others, and that's great – but it's not enough. There are others with the same background and the way you separate yourself is by getting an education. It's a must.
