Military Discount Program
Trident University is pleased to offer a Military Discount Program to its military students. In this tuition assistance program, servicemen and women may earn up to 28 semester credits (7 courses) per fiscal year toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree at Trident University AT NO COST TO THEMSELVES, when using full DoD tuition assistance (please view program discounts below).
Trident University Military Discount Program is available to military personnel under the following eligibility criteria and guidelines:
- Regular military personnel
- Drilling and active duty reservists
- Retired military personnel
- Members of the National Guard
Under the MDP, free courses are available ONLY for military students who settle their tuition by using the full amount of the Department of Defense (DoD) Tuition Assistance for the fiscal year (October - September) at Trident University. Students must complete and receive the appropriate minimum grade (C for Bachelor level, B- for Masters’ level) in order to be eligible. Free courses must be taken within the same fiscal year in which the full amount of DoD Tuition Assistant has been used with Trident University.
Navy personnel whose Tuition Assistance (TA) is less than $4500 per fiscal year, may still participate in this program; however, the difference must be paid out of pocket, through Financial Aid, or VA /GI Bill if applicable. For Example: If you receive a total of $4000 per fiscal year, you will be required to pay the $500 difference either out of pocket or by other means. Navy personnel using DoD Tuition Assistance at the discounted rate of $1,000 per fiscal year do not get free courses.
Air Force Reservists using tuition assistance are eligible for our MDP Program with the exception that tuition per course must be paid prior to the course start date. Based on the Air Force Reservist Tuition Assistance Program the military does not provide advance payment, tuition is paid back directly to the Reservist on a reimbursable basis, after the student has successfully completed the course(s) for which TA was requested and approved. Successful course completion is defined as C or better.
Military spouses and military students not using TA, such as paying out of pocket, through Financial Aid, or VA/GI Bill receive a tuition discount rate (15% for undergraduate) and (27.5% for graduate).
