Transferring to Trident University

Trident University International welcomes transfer students who are looking for a transformative online education. Trident has a rich history of delivering the best online programs, having produced nearly 32,000 graduates. Transfer students may apply online year-round!

*Transfer credit is evaluated on an individual basis. Not all credits are eligible to transfer. See the University Catalog for transfer credit policies.

Undergraduate Students

Students who intend to transfer into a Trident Undergraduate program must:

  • Provide official transcripts of all prior academic work from regionally and recognized nationally accredited institutions.
  • Students that have earned an Associate of Science or Associate of Arts degree from a regionally accredited college or approved nationally accredited college, have successfully completed a college level mathematics course, and have successfully completed a college level English Composition course will satisfy all General Education requirements at Trident.
  • Submit official military transcripts for any service schools and occupational specialties held, if applicable.
  • Have earned a grade of “C-” or higher to meet the following requirements:
    • General Education Mathematics
    • General Education English
    • Program Core
    • Upper Division Requirements

Please Note:

  • Additional forms of non-traditional credit will be posted to undergraduate student’s permanent record only if applied to meet degree requirements.
  • Undergraduate students may transfer in academically transferable credit no matter the date of completion. Where the university deems the content of a course outdated or no longer equivalent or relevant, the credits for that course will transfer as general elective credits only.
  • All eligible college-level coursework will be posted to the undergraduate student’s permanent record with the following exceptions:
    • Failed coursework
    • Withdrawn courses
    • Direct equivalents that have been repeated
    • Repeated courses unless the transfer institution indicates the course is repeatable
  • For the maximum units allowed as transfer credit please refer to the section University Graduation Requirements within the Trident Catalog.

Masters Students

Graduate transfer students must:

  • Provide official transcripts of any prior academic work to be considered for transfer evaluation.
  • Have earned a grade of “B-“ or higher to meet any degree requirement.

Note: Coursework completed within the previous seven years is transferable unless the content is deemed outdated by the university.

Doctoral Students

Doctoral transfer students must:

  • Provide official transcripts of any prior academic work to be considered for transfer evaluation.
  • Must have earned a grade of “B-“ or higher to meet any degree requirement.
