Medical Billing and Coding Certificate Program Overview
After the completion of our Medical Billing and Coding Certificate program, you will be met with a surplus knowledge and ability in the medical office administration.
Over the course of 12 months, students will complete 36 credit hours. At a maximum, students may transfer in 9 semester hours from other programs. This program expands knowledge and expands skill sets to allow students to have the ability to work in the outpatient and inpatient medical settings. Additionally, students who complete the Medical Billing and Coding Certificate program will be qualified to sit for an industry standard exam, with one exam sitting covered under the degree program.
Courses will be structured as follows: over the length of four weeks, each course will have four modules, and each module has weekly units that must be completed. Modules are made up of quizzes, assignments and discussion posts.

As courses in the Medical Billing and Coding Certificate program build on each other, students must complete all required courses in order from the beginning of the program to the end. The program is built in such a way that each course uses curriculum and information from previous courses to build knowledge bases and expand understanding.
