Dr. Michael Aubry
Part-time Faculty - Glenn R. Jones College of Business
Dr. Aubry has taught introduction to business, business communication, entrepreneurship, and various economics, management, and business related courses. He holds a bachelors degree from San Diego State University, a Masters degree from National University, and he just completed his Doctorate in Business Administration at Alliant International University. Dr. Aubry’s dissertation studied the relationship between culture and the adoption of innovative golf products. He has served on the Business Education Statewide Advisory Committee for the past three years. During this period, he oversaw mini-grants, worked on collaborative topics with faculty throughout the state, and created new curriculum with a focus on social media and sustainable business. Dr. Aubry also served in the United States Air Force, and has worked in the field of accounting and finance. He continues to do consulting with small universities and colleges in the greater Southern California area to ensure they are meeting accreditation requirements.

Dr. Aubry has experienced many aspects of the business environment, to include, human resources, management, finance, marketing, and accounting. Each one of these aspects, he learned in various jobs that he has carried. He has ten years of experience in the field of accounting and finance, and he served six years in the Air Force Reserve as a Personnel Journeyman. He has also worked as a Student Ambassador and Student Services Assistant at Grossmont College. He coordinated student outreach events to facilitate student learning, admissions, financial aid, and career and job placement. He has experience working with the counseling department, tech-prep, and the transfer office. He has travelled to Thailand, Vietnam, and Macau, and has conducted business in Thailand on multiple occasions.
To facilitate his currency in business, Dr. Aubry maintains membership in the following organizations: Southern California Golf Association, the Entrepreneur Society, the International and Internet Marketing Association, the Asian Business Association, Linkedin.com, and Friendsoftheuschamber.com. These are excellent networking opportunities, where he has met other business professionals, enabling him to continue his personal development outside of his current profession.
Because of the significant amount of schooling and work experience that Dr. Aubry has thus far accomplished, he has learned various software packages, to include Microsoft Office Suite, Canvas, Seaport, Desire2Learn, Blackboard, WebCT, Moodle, Curricunet, eCollege, QuickBooks, SPSS, Megastat, Oracle, and ADP. By learning such various software suites, it has sharply diminished his learning curve, helping him to effectively process new information for training, educational, and business purposes.
