Jennifer Stephens
Part-time Faculty - Glenn R. Jones College of Business
As a lifelong learner, I like to help students be the best version of themselves and love learning, versus seeing it as a chore.
My name is Jennifer Stephens and I have been teaching higher education for the last 12 years and am retired from the Army. I was a transportation officer while in the service and have had two and half decades of wonderful and exciting jobs. I am a Demonstrated Master Logistician (DML) and some of my favorite jobs were as the commander of a boat company in Pearl Harbor. a Battalion Executive Officer in Kansas City. I absolutely loved those jobs and was sad to leave. I have lived across the globe and had the opportunity to work in high stress environments. The military life is such a family much like the life of learners on discussion boards.
I have taught Leadership, Ethics, Law, Management, Supply, Logistics, Decision Making and many other areas over the years and love to coach, teach and mentor students. I have my B.S. in Finance and International Business from the University of Louisville, MBA from the University of Phoenix, Law Degree from Concord Law School and ABD on my PhD from Northcentral University. I am a lifelong learner and I love to share that passion with my students. My latest work evaluates ethical practices in high pressure organizations.
I have published work in a few areas including the Army Logistician. I have had several books come out with some great co-authors, including Dr. Stephen Covey (7 Habits of Highly Effective People) called Success Simplified and became available around May 2011 and then the other is Roadmap to Success with Ken Blanchard (The One Minute Manager) and was released in the Fall of 2011. In 2012, I had a couple of books come out with Jack Canfield (The Secret and Chicken Soup for the Soul) and CSI with Dr. Robert Fuller so I am pretty excited about that.
In addition to academics I am an avid Green Bay Packer fanatic (also a Brett Favre fan – Don’t mention the Vikings!!!) and enjoy spending time with my three young children.
