Student Questions

What is happening at ICDC College?
As of May 23, 2016, Trident University has taken over the day to day running of ICDC College programs through a process called a “teach-out.” While there has been a change in the administration of ICDC College; to ensure continuity there has been no change in the programs you are taking and Trident has retained many of ICDC College’s instructors and support staff. The phone numbers and email addresses of staff are also unchanged.
What does this news mean for me?
For now, ICDC College programs will continue to operate and you will continue to receive the career focused, quality education you have always received. Additionally, you will continue to have access to your student resources.

At this point, however, nothing changes for you. Continue your studies so you don’t fall behind in your classes.

What should I do? Should I still attend my classes?
You should continue to attend your class, and learn.
Can I still access advising, tutoring, and student resources?
Yes. You will continue to have access to and support from advising and student resources.
How do I get copies of my transcript?
You may request a copy of your official transcript from our Student Records Department. Please complete the Transcript Request Form and submit it to ICDCrecords@trident.edu. Upon receipt, please allow 3 to 5 business days for processing.
What will happen to my educational records once ICDC College programs are taught out?
Trident University is serving as the custodian of records for ICDC students/graduates. You may contact ICDCrecords@trident.edu.
If I finish my degree or certificate, will I still graduate?
Yes. You will still earn a degree or certificate from an accredited institution.

Financial Questions

If I am receiving financial aid, how will my financial aid be affected, and will it transfer to another school?
You are eligible to receive financial aid so long as you remain an eligible student in your ICDC College program. We are currently working with U.S. Department of Education and the Veterans’ Administration on the best process to ensure students receive their financial aid. We hope this process will be completed soon and have little (if any) effect on you receiving your financial aid.

If you transfer to another college to complete your program, your new school will determine your remaining eligibility for financial aid funds.

Teach Out/Transfer Questions

What is the difference between a teach out and a transfer?
A teach out is an arrangement by which a school agrees to provide the students of a closed school an opportunity to complete the same or very similar program of study offered by the closed school, without additional charge to the student. A teach out agreement is a written agreement between schools that must be approved by the Accrediting body. The State authorizing agencies are involved in approving teach-out agreements.

A transfer is a situation in which a student enrolls at another school with or without the intention of completing a same or similar program of study. When a student transfers to another school, the student is responsible for paying any costs associated with the education or training he or she receives at the new school. When a student transfers, the new school may or may not evaluate and accept clock or credit hours earned at the closed school and apply them to the student’s program at the new school. Any transfer of credits is always subject to Accrediting body and/or State authorizing agency requirements. In some cases, a school may also award transferring students credit based on approved testing procedures.

Should I just transfer schools now?
We recommend that students stay the course and work on completing their current programs. If you are considering transferring schools please contact us so that we may provide the information you need to make an informed decision.
Why should I accept a teach-out and not just drop out or transfer to another college of my choosing?
In this teach-out, Trident University has agreed to accept all your credits towards the completion of your degree or certificate, even if they are different than their courses. They will also accept courses with lower grades than their policy might allow. If you drop and transfer, the receiving school will evaluate your transcript like any other student and you will not receive the additional benefits that a teach out arrangement provides.
Will my credits be accepted for transfer at another school?
The acceptance of transfer credits is always at the discretion of the receiving institution. However, schools that enter into an agreement with ICDC will agree to accept all, or almost all, your credits.
