Is Trident University International accredited?

Trident University International is a member of the American InterContinental University System. The System is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (hlcommission.org), an institutional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

State licensure

Trident University International is a member of the American InterContinental University System, which is licensed by the Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education to grant degrees.

Aimed at expanding distance education opportunities for students, the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) is an initiative that establishes comparable national standards for the interstate offering of postsecondary distance education courses and programs. Trident University International is a member of the American InterContinental University System, which is approved by NC-SARA through the Arizona SARA Council. How long has Trident University International been around?

Trident was founded in 1998 by Drs. Yoram Neumann and Edith Neumann as a fully online university. They developed a novel approach to distance learning (now called the EdActive^™ Learning Approach) that promotes active, case-based learning rather than standard testing methods. This approach is built on a strong foundation of student success through the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Trident is home to over 32,000 alumni who have earned their degrees through our flexible online programs.

In 2020 Trident became part of the American InterContinental University System (AIU System), which provides quality and accessible higher education opportunities to non-traditional and adult learners and the military community. The American InterContinental University System is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (hlcommission.org), an institutional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
