TUI University Changes It’s Name To Trident University International

Cypress, CA, January 25, 2011 — TUI University, a leader in online education, today announced an official name change to Trident University International (TUI). The name pays homage to TUI’s unique history as a pioneering force in online education and reaffirms the institution’s pledge to academic excellence, compassionate student support and unparalleled access for current and former members of the military family.

The name is new, yet it remains familiar as it is still TUI, paying tribute to the more than 18,000 alumni who worked hard to earn their TUI degree! The addition of the word Trident is symbolic of TUI’s dedication to providing high quality education to military, veterans, civilian military personnel and their families. The name change also coincides with TUI’s many enhanced offerings and recent educational strides, including:

• A new website which expands functionality, makes it easier to find information, and simplifies ways to connect with networks and share pages with friends;
• New markets as we expand our student base with more veterans, military families and civilians on our military bases;
• Soon to be launched New degree programs;
• A new motto: Aspire – Believe – Achieve;
• New members of TUI faculty & staff;
• An expanded board of managers with key representatives from the military and academia, featuring a new military advisory committee of our board that includes these key past military leaders: General (Ret.) William R. Looney III and Army Lieutenant General (Ret.) Thomas F. Metz and CSM (ret.) William J. (“Joe”) Gainey.

New enhancements to the student experience in and across student support services and registration, with the appointment of a new Vice President of Student Experience and including the creation of a new department, Student One Stop or SOS for short that was created to provide a wide-range of student support in a centrally-located area to promote student success and ease of student life at Trident University.

It also reflects the three degree levels TUI offers and the three components of TUI’s course structure.
