Who is eligible to walk at an in-person ceremony?

Any Trident graduate who meets the following criteria is eligible to participate:

• Undergraduate or Graduate students: To participate in the Commencement Ceremony must complete your degree requirements on or before 12/31/2026.
• Doctoral students: To participate in the Commencement Ceremony, you must have IRB approval by the end of the spring 2026 session. See https://careered.libguides.com/tui/doctoral/irb/steps for more information on the IRB process. Registration confirmations may not be finalized until the spring session has concluded. )

If a graduate completed their graduation requirements in a prior session and has already received degree clearance approval from the Registrar’s Office, they may participate in this or any future Trident University International Commencement Ceremony.

Degree Clearance: If the Office of the Registrar has not contacted you within a month of the grades posting for your final session, please contact your Student Success Advisor. If you have a specific question about your eligibility, please email registration@trident.edu.

Do I need to register to attend the Commencement Ceremony?

Yes. Graduates must register to walk the stage and participate in Trident’s annual in-person commencement ceremony. Once registration has opened, information on how to register will be sent to all eligible students.
