Upon successful completion of the BSCS program, graduates should be able to:

This program is not designed to meet the educational requirements for a specific professional license or certification that is required for employment in an occupation. As such, Trident has made no determination regarding prerequisites for licensure or certification in any state or jurisdiction.
Courses at Trident are industry-relevant. As a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) student, you will take a variety of classes, including Networking Fundamentals; Computer System Architecure; and Information Security and Technology in Society.
The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) requires 120 credits for degree completion. You will take 56 semester credits of program core coursework and 12 concentration credits. You're also required to meet Trident's general education requirements as specified in our course catalog. BSCS students will need to complete specific courses (or their equivalent) for some general education competency areas.
- Cybersecurity - This concentration emphasizes advanced technologies to secure information infrastructures and protect information from cyberattacks. Coursework covers areas such as advanced networking: wireless, hybrid networks, network security, and cryptography. Students will learn and work with advanced technologies to secure information infrastructures and protect information from cyberattacks.

The following standard transfer policies apply:
- Transfer students are required to provide official transcripts of all prior academic work without exception.
- Prior academic work will be articulated during the admission process.
- All courses, whether applied to a program or general elective in transfer will be posted to the student's permanent record.
- Transfer credits will not be included in the calculation of overall GPA.
- At the undergraduate level, students may transfer in credit no matter the date of completion. In cases where the content of a course is deemed outdated or no longer relevant / equivalent by the Glenn R. Jones College of Business, credits for that course will transfer as general elective credits only.
- Students may formally appeal transfer decision to the Provost or designee. Appeals must be submitted in writing within five (5) business days and must be accompanied by supporting documents or evidence.

Credits for Prior Learning

Trident's Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) is an online program designed to help students prepare to enter the growing field of computer science. While in the program, you can choose between the following concentrations—Cloud Computing and Cybersecurity. Students who pursue a degree in computer science often have interest in working in government, business, or technology.
In this Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) program, students study a mix of general education, program core courses, and concentration courses, including but not limited to: Networking and Data Communications, Human-Computer Interaction, and Information Security and Technology. They'll be required to apply knowledge of computing and mathematics appropriate to the discipline and apply design and development principles in the construction of software systems. In addition, they'll study how to analyze problems and identify the requirements applicable to their solutions and design, implement, and evaluate a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet desired needs.
The BSCS degree program is offered online and starts monthly. Completion of the Trident admissions process will depend on how quickly you complete the steps in the Trident online application process. You may complete the application process over the phone with an advisor, or you can do it online. Once you've completed the online application, you may hear from an advisor within 24 hours to discuss the next steps toward starting your degree program.
The Bachelor of Computer Science degree (BSCS) consits of 120 credits. You may be eligible for transfer credit, which is evaluated on an individual basis. Not all credits are eligible to transfer. However, in cases where the course content is deemed outdated or no longer relevant/equivalent by the Glenn R. Jones College of Business, credits for that course may be applied as general elective credits only. Also, you could potentially take fewer classes and shorten the time to graduation by passing a Trident Challenge Exam*. Undergraduate students can demonstrate their knowledge and, if successfully passed, earn credit toward their degree. *The ability to reduce time in school and/or reduce tuition towards the full cost of a degree program depends on the number of Trident Challenge exams successfully passed. Trident Challenge exam credits are non-transferable. Not all programs are eligible for a reduction in time and money. Courses eligible are subject to change.
