Dr. Maria D Luque
Part-time Faculty - College of Health and Human Services
A native of Germany, Dr. Luque received her Bachelor of Arts in Translation for German and Spanish from Institut für Fremdsprachen und Auslandskunde, Erlangen/Germany. She is a United States Air Force veteran and holds a Master of Science and a Doctor oh Philosophy in Health Sciences, both from Trident University. Her doctoral research examined the impact of physical activity on quality of life through the menopausal transition. Dr. Luque is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and believes that mind and body have to be cared for equally. That’s why her approach to health education includes both the intellectual and physical component of education: teaching in the College of Health and Human Services at Trident University as well as conducting lectures for fitness professionals, and coaching group and individual fitness classes. She’s also a freelance writer for fitness journals.
