September 16, 2016 – Cypress, CA – Trident University International (Trident) is proud to announce Dr. Mihaela Tanasescu as its new Provost, Chief Academic Officer, and Accreditation Liaison Officer for WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). She will begin in her new role on September 26th.

Previously, Dr. Tanasescu served as the Executive Dean of the College of Health, Human Services, and Science at Ashford University. Most recently, she served as Ashford’s Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs, Chief Academic Officer, and Accreditation Liaison Officer for WSCUC.

Prior to her tenure at Ashford, Dr. Tanasescu served as Trident’s Dean of the College of Health Sciences and the College of Education at Trident. During her prior tenure Dr. Tanasescu was instrumental in improving the Ph.D. program in the College of Health Sciences. Her leadership was integral to new program development and student-centric improvements within this College.

Already being familiar with Trident and its key tenets of academic excellence and a superior student experience, Dr. Tanasescu is set to lead further efforts to improve academic content and delivery, building on the success of the University’s new online learning management system and the implementation of the Trident Fastrac 8-week session structure.

Dr. Tanasescu has over 20 years of service in health and education, including prior work at the National Institute of Public Health in Romania. She carried out research at Harvard University and the University of Connecticut. She is an education research and accreditation reviewer, and is the author of multiple peer-reviewed articles.

She received a Doctor of Science from the Harvard School of Public Health, a Master of Science from the University of Connecticut, and a Medical Degree from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania.
