June 14, 2018 – Cypress, CA – Trident University International (Trident) alumnus Dr. Rex A. Holiday has published the book, The Family Link to Education: The Road to Personal and Professional Success, with co-author Steve Sonntag through Rowman and Littlefield.
This book contains relevant and contemporary information for individuals, families, educators, and communities who want to provide future generations with the best opportunities for success in all facets of life. A number of educational perspectives are presented in the book, including those of families, subject matter experts, and students.
Dr. Holiday is an alumnus of Trident’s Ph.D. in Educational Leadership program, and is an experienced educator, practitioner, and researcher. He started working in the wireless telecommunications industry in 1989, holding roles such as Engineer IV Specialist and Associate Engineer.
Dr. Holiday has been a peer reviewer for research journals and a review panelist for research fellowship grant applications. He has served as a school board trustee for the Manteca Unified School District in Manteca, CA, as well as an advisory committee member for three National Academy Foundation (NAF) engineering and technology academies.
Additionally, Dr. Holiday has facilitated summer high school engineering internships at Verizon, presented engineering careers for high school career day workshops, and has co-authored and co-presented a family networking education workshop. He has conducted multiple research studies on STEM disciplines, including his dissertation, titled “Comparing the Instructional Design of Objectivism or Enactivism on Academic Achievement and Critical Thinking in Wireless Telecommunications Training.”
Dr. Holiday earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, concentrating in eLearning, from Trident. He holds a Master of Arts in English with an Emphasis in Creative Writing from California State University, Sacramento and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communications from California State University, Stanislaus.
