June 24, 2021 – Chandler, AZ – Dr. Jose Angeles, an alumnus of Trident University International’s (Trident) Ph.D. in Business Administration program and adjunct faculty member, will be presenting the paper, “Did We Miss It? Perceived Business Process Knowledge, a Critical Antecedent of Effective Use of Information Systems Contact” at the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) 2021: Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
The research examines current business process literature, proposing that organizations should look beyond the most commonly discussed topics, such as modeling, increasing effectiveness, and increasing efficiency.
The authors recommend that the first discussion should be assessing knowledge of one’s primary business process. As a means to test this hypothesis, the individual level construct Perceived Business Process Knowledge (PBPK) was developed to survey users.
“The Perceived Business Process Knowledge construct is proposed to increase the explanatory and predictive ability of technology acceptance models and may help in systems development and business process improvement efforts of organizations,” explains Dr. Jose Angeles.
The lead author on this paper was Dr. Angeles. Serving as co-author was Dr. Indira Guzman, Doctoral Studies Director in Trident’s Glenn R. Jones College of Business.
Dr. Angeles is an adjunct faculty member at Trident. He teaches courses at the master’s and doctoral levels and has chaired several Ph.D. committees. He currently serves in the U.S. Armed Forces and has four decades of experience in IT systems development, implementation, and operation.
Dr. Angeles’s research interests include knowledge of business processes as related to the use of information technology and the impact of leadership on organizational effectiveness. Other areas of interest include research methods related to structural equation modeling, information technology theories, information technology life cycle planning, and organizational leadership.
