After 22 years of active duty service and another 10 years as a contractor working closely with active duty military, it has been frustrating that I have been unable to effectively apply the leadership skills that were so important in the military to my civilian life.

Knowing I could go back as far as the Civil War, for the sake of this writing, I will start with my grandfathers, both who answered the call to serve in Vietnam and ultimately returned to the U.S. to fight (in a much different way) for the country they loved.
