As the Army continues to address reductions in personnel, impacted families can find comfort in educational opportunities. As the Army continues on its mission to reduce spending and address DOD mandated reductions in personnel to a total of 440,000 to 450,000 soldiers by the end of the 2015 fiscal year, the uncertainty of the future may be a cause of anxiety for some servicemembers.

In its sixth year, the rankings factor in the results of the publication’s annual survey, the most comprehensive school-by-school assessment of veteran and military student services and rates of academic achievement.

Trident University International (Trident) will be acknowledging Veterans Day on several fronts this year. The University has strong ties to the United States Armed Forces, as 79% of current students are active duty military, veterans, National Guard, or military dependents.

Trident University International (Trident) is set to introduce the William “Joe” Gainey Scholarship. Named in honor of retired Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (SEAC) and Trident Board of Trustees member William “Joe” Gainey, this scholarship is open to all E-9 active duty, reserve, and National Guard members currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces and pursuing a graduate degree at Trident.

James Shiver, who currently serves as Regional Manager of Strategic Military and Community Relations for Trident University International (Trident), has been named to the Board of Directors for Special Operations Bionic Warriors (SOBW), an organization that assists significantly injured veterans and current members of the military.

Trident University will host an employee and community event on September 18th with the goal of preparing 1,000 letters, cards, or notes for Operation Gratitude, a non-profit, volunteer organization focused on lifting the spirits and meet the evolving needs of the military and first responder communities.
